Personally one of my favorite areas of greater Miami is the village of Miami Shores. Just north of Miami’s busier entertainment and urban areas you will find this lovely town. Filled with charming Mediterranean style homes along beautiful tree-lined streets in a very family-oriented setting. My first thought when come here is, “this is a neighborhood I would want to raise my kids in.”

Although Miami gets a bad rap for the “friendliness” of its residents, which I personally disagree with, you will not get that feeling at all when you walk these streets. This is as welcoming of a community as you will get in the Miami area and is without a doubt a neighborhood you will not want to leave.

My favorite part of the real estate in Miami Shores is many the homes are from the 1930’s and 1940’s and have so much character to them. A lot have been beautifully renovated and restored but keep their unique elements of the past.

Sitting just north of the Upper Eastside and south of North Miami, stretching from the Biscayne Bay and nearly to 95, you are just 15 minutes from downtown Miami but when you are out for your evening stroll would never guess it.

If you have a family or are planning on having one in the future, or if you’re just looking for a lovely, quiet town to live in, make sure Miami Shores is at the top of that list!
